To provide an Employee Assistance Programme that would ensure confidential and consistent assessment, referral, counseling and other professional services aimed at assisting employees of on the work place in dealing effectively with problems that may adversely affect them personally and their work performance. WHAT IS AN EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME?
A THE PURPOSE OF THE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME 1) To provide fair and consistent assessment, referral and counseling services for ALL employees who require assistance. 2) Allows employees to seek help confidentially 3) Links employees with the best support available. 4) Strives to get employees back to productive well-being and avoid the need for disciplinary action 5) Encourages employees to seek assistance with stressful situations BEFORE a problem develops. SERVICES WE CAN PROVIDE ¨ Assessment The determination of the nature and intensity of the presenting and underlying problems in order to develop a treatment plan ¨ Short Term Counseling A therapeutic intervention geared at returning the individual to pre-crisis level of functioning. ¨ Referral When an individual has been assessed as requiring specialized counseling from another counselor / professional ¨ Follow Up A therapeutic method of determining the impact of the therapeutic intervention on the individual after a predetermined period of time RANGE OF STRESSFUL SITUATIONS THE EAP ADDRESSES ¨ Mental Health Assistance with stress, anxiety, depression, suicide risk and other emotional problems that require counseling and other treatment ¨ Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency Clinical intervention regarding abuse of alcohol, prescription and / or illegal drugs. ¨ Marital, Family and Relationship problems Help in resolving conflict and discord within the marriage, family or friendship ¨ Dependent Care Specific child care and elderly care assistance ¨ Legal Trauma Assistance with questions and serious problems related to separation, divorce, child custody, landlord / tenant disputes, estate, criminal action and consumer fraud ¨ Financial Crisis Help in budgeting, credit and debt problems ¨ Physical Health Assistance with problems primarily or secondarily related to physical health of employees or family members ¨ Job Related Help and counseling with work related interpersonal problems excluding direct intrusion in the supervisor – employee relationship ¨ Other Problems Battering, incest, sexual harassment in the workplace, sexual problems including impotence and sexual preference, trouble adjusting to retirement and individual adjustment problem.
